The Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic to Local Food Businesses in  Metro Manila

Abstract:

Most of the local food businesses are booming in every corner of the country, and we see them opening their doors to their customers on a daily basis. However, when the COVID-19 Pandemic struck, it forced societal changes around the globe unexpectedly. The researchers aim to identify the most affected in the local food industry and to discuss all of the factors affecting the business operations and their significant relationship to the local food business in Metro Manila during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Through the responses to the questions, the researchers gathered data from a sample of people using a survey research method. Respondents of all ages 18 through to over 35 were represented, with slightly smaller numbers in the Age below 34 compared to 35 and above categories accounting for 46.7% and 53.3% of the respondents. The proportion of ages of males to females was about 45% and 55% in all age groups. The researchers determined that the lockdown Policies have no significant relationship to the Sales of Local Food Businesses in Metro Manila during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Additionally, the Health Protocols has no significant relationship to the Sales of Local Food Businesses in Metro Manila during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
