IMPACT OF TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT PRACTICES ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF SELECTED CHINESE MANUFACTURING COMPANIES IN SHANXI PROVINCE

Abstract:

The research has weighed the primary criteria of Total Quality Management (TQM) implementation and it effects on Organizational Performance in the manufacturing companies in Shanxi, China. By conducting a survey of questionnaire in the 10 selected Shanxi electromechanical companies, the study indicates how the respondents view a series of concepts under TQM practice and measure the Organizational Performance data in the various areas.

The findings shows the respondents rank the top 5 contributors of TQM practice, namely customer focus, effective leadership, quality information management, teamwork, supplier relationships, and strategic planning can significantly impact the companies’ Organizational Performance yields while marketing performance and customer results are the 2 dominant measurements reflecting the attainment degree of a manufacturing company’s Organizational Performance.

In addition, the developed TQM model in the study manifests the findings and can serve a playbook to guide the manufacturing companies conducting their TQM practice for their future betterment.
