An Analysis on the Challenges of LPU Manila Tourism Working Students in Balancing School and Work

Abstract:

 Student employees are considered a great asset to the company because of their willingness to learn and their creative perspective toward work. This study aimed to analyze the challenges of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila Tourism Working Students in balancing their school and work. This study focused on the challenges of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila Tourism Working students in balancing school and work. It was conducted using an online survey questionnaire and distributed using social media platforms. A total of 288 respondents participated in the study. The findings of this study indicate that most Tourism Working Students are working as call center agents or at a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) Company. These students engage in part-time jobs to achieve financial freedom, help their parents pay for their tuition fees, and gain work experience and healthcare benefits. Lastly, the tourism working students are having difficulty reciting during their classes. However, they can still attend classes, pass activities on time, collaborate with groupmates, find time to bond with family and friends, and participate in occasional family gatherings.
