SusTRAIN Caravan: Promoting a Sustainable Today for the Next Tomorrow

On March 16, 2024, the SDG 12 Ambassador of LPU Manila, Mr. John Michael Atie implemented the SDG 12 Project entitled; “Sustrain Caravan” in Mandaluyong City. This project is in collaboration with LPU CITHM Student Government and LPU UNICEF Volunteers, also partnered with PATA PH – JRU Student Chapter, PATA PH- LPU Manila Student Chapter, ARYA PH, PNU Peers, LPU Tourism Students’ Association, LPU Hospitality Management Students Association, LIMA English Society, LPU Cruiseline Students, LPU Laguna Dangal, LPU Baristas’ Association, and LES Toque Society. This Event was sponsored by Sheen 500 Salon & SPA and Angel’s Pizza – Taytay Rizal Branch.


The project “SusTRAIN Caravan: Promoting a Sustainable Today for the Next Tomorrow aims to gather entrepreneurs with sustainable businesses and provide them with a platform to promote their products and services to the local community through a one-day caravan event. Inviting businesses aligned with sustainability such as paper packaging businesses, local food sellers, thrift shops, and reusable product markets, this project is with the intent to inform people with various choices for a more sustainable and greener lifestyle.


With this event, Sustrain Caravan addressed different SDG 12 targets such as Children’s Program about Food Waste (Target 12.3) The Children’s Program focuses on educating young kids about the importance of not wasting food and at the same time, conservation of resources, Community Fashtry (Target 12.5) which promotes sustainable fashion that came from pre-loved clothes. The event also highlighted the Petition Board Signing for Corporate Responsibility (Target 12.6) that encouraged attendees to answer the call to encourage bigger businesses to turn to sustainable practices, and lastly a Roundtable talk about Sustainability in Business (Target 12.8) that emphasized the sharing of sustainable practices in business and sustainable lifestyle in general.
