LPU hosts PHREB Good Research Practice Training

The Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB), conducted the Good Research Practice Training on September 30-October 1, 2019 at the Lyceum of the Philippines University. The goal of the training workshop was to create an enhanced awareness of the importance of ethics in research and an improved capacity for participation in an ethics review system as research stakeholders. Additionally, the conduct of the training is one of the first steps in having an accredited Research Ethics Committee (REC). 

The main objectives of the training were to promote dialogue and provide guidance regarding ethical dimensions of research, be sensitize to the basic principles, clarify the rights and obligations of stakeholders, value controls, avoid, recognize, and correct common issues, motivate participants towards doing, approving, and advocating quality ethical research and achieve PHREB/Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accreditation of clinical investigators and Ethics Review Committees (ERCs) 

Facilitators of the training workshop were Dr. Ricardo Manalastas and Dr. Angelica Francisco of PHREB. Some of the topics discussed were as follows:
