LPU Manila Human Resources Department (HRD) visited Chung Hua University, Taiwan on May 26, 2023, to benchmark HR best practices and explore other opportunities for collaborative activities such as joint research, lectures, conferences and other outreach communities. 

The benchmarking activity was spearheaded by Ms. Judith B. Imperial, HR Director, LPU Manila and Dean Chang Hsin-Wen of the College of Tourism, Chung Hua University, Taiwan.

It started with an orientation by Ms. Jenny Tsang, General Manager from CHU travel agency where the team learned the different services offered by the travel agency and its strong partnerships with the other industries around the world. 

Dr. Lo Chi of the intern hotel greeted the team with the creative and innovative interior design of the intern hotel rooms as explained by Dr. Rita Wu and Dean Chang Hsin-Wen of the College of Tourism followed by the benchmarking program presentation by Dean Pei Wen and Dr. Anders of the College of Management who shared Chung Hua University’s best practices, vision, and goals. Mr. David Hind, President of Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management was also present during the program and gave warm welcome remarks to the group. 

Following the presentation, a brief tour of the L-building (e-library) was given, highlighting a number of innovative and technologically advanced tools that have been instrumental in the advancement of education at Chung Hua University.

After the benchmarking activity, the HRD team enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at the Lago Bistro and expressed their gratitude to Chung Hua University for the opportunity to learn from their university especially to Dean Chang Hsin-Wen of the College of Tourism who welcomed the team with open arms and made the benchmarking activity a memorable experience.

As a result of their experience at Chung Hua University, the team has developed a stronger commitment to internalization and academic collaboration.
