Breaking Barriers for a Healthy Future: A Sexual Health Seminar for Youth

On April 13, 2024, the SDG 3 Ambassador of LPU Manila, Ms. Deannise Hope Nieves, implemented the SDG 3 Project entitled; “Breaking Barriers for a Healthy Future”. This project was partnered with Likhaan Center for Women’s Health Inc., Kabataan Community Health Advocacy Team, SK Council of NBBS Kaunlaran, LPU Tourism Students’ Association, Philippine School for Technology Development & Innovation Inc., SLDM Colleges of Quezon City Inc. Saint Louisse De Marillac International Foundation Inc., Emannuel John Institute of Science & Technology, Capellan Institute of Technology, Horizons Institute of Technology, St. Catherine Institute of Technology, St. Jude Institue of Technology, St. Michael Arcangel Technological Institute, St. Peter Velle Technical Training Center and Lastly sponsored by D&D Unli Sweetness.


The Sexual Health Seminar initiated by SDG 3 Ambassador of LPU Manila entitled “Breaking Barriers for A Healthy Future” has given an impact to the participants especially to the youth of Brgy. NBBS Kaunlaran. We have shared the information under the targets of Sustainable Goal number three targeting to end the epidemic of non-communicable diseases such as AIDS, HIV, and some communicable diseases. As well as achieving its goal to ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health- care services.


With this event, Breaking Barriers for a healthy future aims to raise awareness on how we can achieve healthy sexual reproduction, to encourage the use of contraceptives and educate about the effectiveness of it, and to reduce stigma and misinformation about sexual reproduction. This project also addressed different SDG 3 targets such as Target 3.3 – By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical diseases and combat hepatitis, water-borne diseases and other communicable diseases and Target 3.7– By 2030, ensure universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including for family planning, information and education, and the integration of reproductive health into national strategies and programmes.
