LPU College of Law’s Courtesy Call with Chief Justice Gesmundo
LPU College of Law, under the leadership of Dean Sol Mawis, recently had the honor of a courtesy call with the esteemed Honorable Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Chief Justice Gesmundo holds a special place in the LPU community as he is a proud alumnus of the university. In 1977, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, which makes this courtesy call even more significant.
The courtesy call was a momentous occasion that brought together key faculty members, including Atty. Senen De Santos and Atty. Peaches Aranas, who were delighted to have the opportunity to interact with Chief Justice Gesmundo. Present also were Ms. Jennifer Tucpi, the OIC for Academic Affairs and Ms. Sandra Recto, the Director for Alumni Affairs.
The purpose of the courtesy call was not only to show appreciation and respect but also to express gratitude to Chief Justice Gesmundo for accepting the University’s conferment of honoris causa. This honorary degree is a testament to his exceptional achievements and contributions to the field of law and justice in the Philippines.
The event served as a reminder of the university’s commitment to excellence in legal education. It also showcased the dedication to producing outstanding legal professionals who will contribute to the advancement of the legal system in the Philippines.
