LPU bags 2nd place in the STR Market Competition
Success begins with oneself and is bolstered by those people who have placed their trust in them.
The College extends its congratulations to the following HRA students who chose to compete in the Philippine STR Market Challenge 2021: Eldon Tropel, Franz Jorrel Luz, Earl Andrei Joriel, Jasmine Cruz, Chayle Limjoco, and Ailessa Catubigan. You did great in your preparation of the data sets as well as in your presentation. The College is extremely proud of you.
Likewise, let me congratulate all the coaches, Mr. Rosan Olalia, Ms. Nova Amor Castillo, and Mr. Jose Rizalito Cabayan Jr., for your guidance and tenacity despite the challenges in the preparation for this competition. I am grateful that you were always available to consult with the students and prepare them for this competition.
Our journey to this competition is not an easy feat. The continuous critiquing of output and presentation may seem endless but with all your commitment and hard work, we were able to hurdle all the challenges at hand and emerged a victor.
Yes, I believe we already won when I heard realizations and learnings of the students and coaches about the importance of data analytics in one’s operation. The graphs and numbers may seem difficult but once you get to interpret them accurately you will be amazed by the vast of information they can provide. Let us push for more students to love the data and appreciate its contribution to our industry.
The accolade we received being 2nd place in this competition is truly a bonus. You most deserved it. Again, congratulations, and may your tribe increase.
We would like to thank Smith Travel Research (STR) and LPU Laguna for organizing this event as well as to the panel of experts who provided their no-nonsense comments and insights to the betterment of our report.
Lastly, all this will not be possible without the support of our LPU President, Atty Roberto P. Laurel, OIC Academic Affairs, Ms. Jennifer Tucpi, and our Dean, Dr. Lilibeth Aragon together with the CITHM administrators. Thank you.
