The Foreign Service Club is honored that the Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Philippines, His Excellency, Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng, was the guest speaker for the Ambassador’s Talk held on July 9, 2021 via Zoom.

Our guest speaker indeed has a significant amount of experience in diplomacy as he studied Bachelor of Political Science and has a Master of Arts in International Relations in Diplomacy. Apart from that, he started his career in 1984 when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Attaché of Europe Division in the Department of Political Affairs. Subsequently, in 1985, he became the Attaché of East Asian Affairs Division in the same department.

In 1988, he was transferred to the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing as an Attaché. He, later on, became its third secretary in 1988 and eventually proceeded as the second secretary in 1991. He thereupon returned to the East Asian Affairs Division, Department of Political Affairs as the second secretary in 1992.

Following that, he entered the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kunming as the second secretary and eventually became the first secretary in 1994. Afterward, he set foot in the Cultural Relations Division of the Department of Information in Thailand, as the first secretary in 1998, and as a Counsellor in 2000.

He went back to the Royal Thai Embassy in Beijing as the Minister-Counsellor in 2004 and then to the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Xiamen in 2007 with the same post. He then entered the Office of the Permanent Secretary in 2009. He was the former Chief, Secretariat to the Department of European Affairs in 2010 and subsequently seconded in the Office of the Minister during 2011.

He was transferred to the Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra as the Minister in 2012. In 2016, he became the Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou. Currently, he is the Ambassador-designate of the Royal Thai Embassy in Manila since 2018.

Behind these immense dimensions of his professional undertakings lies a man with impressive contributions to 21st-century diplomacy.
