To further enhance their knowledge regarding the world outside the corners of the classroom, selected Senior High School (SHS) students participate in “Hello Japan 2019”, a seminar arranged by the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) of the Embassy of Japan. The said event was made possible in coordination with the LPU Arts and Cultural Affairs Department headed by Mr. Robert Hayden and LPU SHS Content Lead for Research, Mr. John Christian Espinola.
Throughout the seminar led by Mr. Toshiyuki Taguchi, researcher and adviser at the JICC, students were able to learn more about the culture and traditions of Japan as well as their new era — Reiwa. During the education discussion, students were also able to interact with Aibo the Robot Dog and Paro the Robot Seal. Subsequently, student also did “origami” or the art of paper folding. After the session, the students played a game of short quiz bee to test what they've learned and brought home souvenir items.
