LPU-SHS Visits South Korea Universities

by Joshua Miguel Ocampo

Three SHS students--Junekaycelle Aubrey Grace Carillo, Jamela Sagang and Joshua Miguel Ocampo--together with Principal Ms. Clarence Ella Alipio, visited four universities--Kyungnam University, Tongmyong University, Ulsan University and Yeungnam University--in South Korea on February 18-22, 2019 with other Philippine schools’ representatives for benchmarking and campus tour.

The students were oriented on the scholarship programs and admission requirements of the schools mentioned in the latter’s pursuit to invite foreign students to study in their respective universities.

The scholarship offering of each school is enticing, and all of them require passing the Korean language proficiency as well as the TOEFL and TOEIC. LPU-SHS apparently has the advantage of having TOEIC in the curriculum, which provides G12 students the edge in getting scholarships here and abroad as well as in pursuing college as most tertiary programs require the same competency.

In terms of facilities, these four universities have amazed the Philippine delegation by their top-of-the-line technological advancements in their curriculum; their very wide campuses and numerous buildings definitely tell a story of quality education in South Korea.
