Creating Outputs with the Refinitiv Philippines - LPU Academe Linkage Program Scholarship

 

Beyond the Refinitiv tagline, “We bring people and ideas together to create greater opportunity,” the first scholars from LPU were recognized by recently and will benefit from scholarship opportunities. Refinitiv believes in creating an environment with their customers and partners, such as LPU Manila, where they can confidently transform change into opportunity. Refinitv has offered to provide financial assistance and extend opportunities to qualified, deserving, and talented LPU students to enable them to obtain quality education.

 

On March 28, scholars of LPU-Manila, together with Department of Linkages and Standards (DLS) Executive Director Tina Aquino and CBA Accountancy Chairperson Mr. Al Gallardo, witnessed the groundbreaking event where the Scholarship Agreement to finance the education of LPU scholars was signed by the students in the presence of their parents and LPU representatives. Based on the agreement, Refinitiv will shoulder all school charges, including tuition fee, laboratory, miscellaneous and other fees for the relevant term up to a maximum of Php 150,000.00 per scholar.

There will be another recruitment of scholars for AY 2019-2020, open to all LPU students graduating by June 2020. 

 

Program Qualifications and Requirements

 

A student applying for inclusion in the Program must possess all of the qualifications and none of the disqualifications indicated below as substantiated by the required supporting documents to be submitted:

 

The candidate must be enrolled or is qualified to enroll as a regular student of Lyceum of the Philippines University for the current school year in a business - or finance - related course; must be in good academic standing, that is, without a failing grade in all the subjects taken and maintains a Grade Weighted Average of not lower than 2.5 or its equivalent; for documentary requirements: original copy of the Official Grade Report validated by the University Registrar; a full load enrollment assessment or class schedule and a complete course curriculum; he/she must not be enjoying any other scholarship program or financial assistance/benefit from other entities; must be physically fit and in a completely healthy and capable condition to attend and finish his/her chosen course as substantiated by a medical certificate with the attending physician's license number; must have a good moral character and have no record of being expelled from any school/educational institution that he/she has attended in the past and without any or existing case or derogatory record as seen in a certificate of good moral character issued by the most recent school attended and has not been convicted or charged of any crime before judicial courts as seen in his/her Barangay Clearance and NBI/Police Clearance; the candidate must be a Filipino citizen or holding a relevant residence status validated thru a PSA certified birth certificate and is presently living in the Philippines as seen in the Brgy. Clearance and in the sketch of residence submitted; must have at least an "Average" intellectual ability to know his/her capacity and potentials in pursuing and completing his/her studies based on the aptitude assessments conducted by the External Grantor and through the short essay submitted; must possess the right character and attitude of a Scholar assessed through the interview conducted by the External Grantor's representatives; must provide a recommendation letter from the University/College Dean and must not be currently employed with businesses that directly compete with the External Grantor, its parent company, affiliates, or other companies belonging to the same group.

 

Failure to submit all the requirements and the supporting documents will mean non-processing of a student's application. Lyceum of the Philippines University may also require submission of additional documents other than those stated above should there be a need for it.
