Launching of TESDA Recognition of Industry Bodies (RIBs) Programs
“TESDAbot Lahat” is DG Lapeña’s new battle cry that was presented on March 26, 2019 at Tandang Sora Hall, TESDA Women’s Center in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
A few decades ago, the National Manpower and Youth Council (NMYC) initiated the foundation of Industry Boards (IBs), in accordance with Article 50 of the Labor Code, to represent the different industries and serve as conduit in addressing the various business and industrial concerns nationwide.
Recently, TESDA recognized various Industry Boards or Industry Associations as partners in the delivery of Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs or services and to engage the direct participation of employers and workers in the design and implementation of work related to technical education and skills development.
LPU’s Tina Aquino was present during the March 26 event at TESDA, representing the Tourism Industry Board Foundation, Inc. (TIBFI) as its current chairperson.
