As part of the activities to kick off the 65th Foundation Anniversary celebration, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) conducted the 1st Research Forum on August 17, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the LPU Mini Theater with the theme “A Journey to Innovation and Excellence.” The research papers of LPU CAS faculty Prof. Romualdo Mabuan, Dr. Emilita Custodio, Dr. Ryan Coroña, Prof. Joan Porillo, and Prof. Abigeil Francisco were presented at the forum.

Among those invited to critique the research output were University of the Philippines Vice President for Public Affairs Dr. Jose Wendell Capili and Mapua Institute of Technology School of Languages, Humanities and Social Sciences Dean Dr. Jonathan Macayan. Dr. Capili is a well- published researcher and a recipient of several awards, such as the UP Gawad Chancellor, the Carlos P. Romulo Professorial Chair, and the UP Centennial Professorial Chair, while Dr. Macayan has presented several papers about psychology and educational measurement and evaluation.
Aside from the faculty research presentations, the CAS graduate tracer study was critiqued by selected alumni of the college, as among them Ma. Allaine Allanigue of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA-NCR) and Karen Aguiluz of Robinsons Supermarket Corporation.
