45th SSEAYP Makes an Institutional Visit to LPU

Ship for South East Asian and Japanese Youth Program, also known as SSEAYP, is an annual youth exchange program organized by the Cabinet Office of Japan and governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote friendship and mutual understanding among the youths of 10 Southeast Asian countries and Japan, to broaden their perspective on the world, and to strengthen their spirit of international cooperation and practical skills for international collaboration.
The International Affairs Office, in partnership with Arts and Cultural Affairs Department and events class H-446, organized the institutional visit. It was held on November 18, 2018 at the JPL Hall of Freedom. with selected youth from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Japan participating.
The program started with a heartening invocation, singing of the national anthems of both the Philippines and Japan, and welcome remarks from Mr. Alfredo Diamante, the Director of International Affairs Office, followed by another speech from Ms. Louraine Alerta, an LPU Alumna and SSEAYP member, sharing her experiences in the said youth program. Mr. Robert Hayden, the Director of Arts and Cultural Affairs Department, hosted the game. A boodle fight kind of lunch was then shared merrily by all the attendees. The program ended with interactions through singing and dancing.
