Graduate School Strengthens Ties with Chinese Partners

As it moves toward internationalization, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila Claro M. Recto Academy of Advanced Studies (Graduate School) recently extended its ties to China with a series of visits to various universities and industry partners. Graduate School Dean Dr. Jose Ma. Gonzales discussed collaborations between LPU and Chinese educational institutions Peking University (PU), Beijing Normal University (BNU), and Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC).

 

Dr. Gonzales met with PU History Professor Dr. Bao Maohong, who agreed in principle to the conduct of collaborative research on several topics, namely: The History of Philippine Cities, Jose Rizal, the National Hero, and former president Jose P. Laurel.

BNU Academy of Government Dean Dr. Tang Renwu also agreed to student exchange and faculty exchange programs between LPU and BNU. He also proposed for Dr. Gonzales and LPU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Conrado Iñigo, Jr. to visit Zhejiang University for possible Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two Universities.

 

Dr. Gonzales and BIGC Foreign Affairs Department Vice Dean Prof. Liu Yang discussed a cooperation in the undergraduate level covering student/faculty exchange and joint research undertaking especially in common courses such as Mass Communication, Hospitality Management, and Information Technology.
