Congratulations to LPU and to Dr. Marilyn Ngales, Director for Community Outreach and Service Learning, for bagging international awards from Investors in People!
On November 28, 2018 in London, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) received two (2) international awards from Investors in People. LPU received Excellence in Social Responsibility while Dr. Marilyn Ngales won as Leader of the Year 2018. These awards are the fruits of collective efforts of LPU senior leaders, faculty, staff, and alumni through their 10-year effort in community work with indigenous people. Since 2008 the community has been working to improve the lives of the Agta in Quirino, Isabela, and Camarines Sur, the Batak in Palawan, the Dumagat in Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, and Bulacan, the Kabihug in Camarines Norte, and the Ayta in Zambales. The work includes teacher training with DepEd teachers deployed in these territories, plus about 18 more provinces catering to 20 more ethnic groups in partnership with National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Juliet Akia, and Department of Education (DepEd).
The Investors in People Awards is true to its promise of recognizing the people and teams that make a difference every day, highlighting excellence from across the Investors in People global community.
“We owe this recognition to and share with the entire LPU volunteers, from the students to top management. IIP, thank you for putting us in the map of globally people - oriented organizations. This will inspire us to sustain the excellence exemplified by all. “ - said Dr. Marilyn Ngales, COSeL Director, IIP Leader of the Year 2018.
