Blessing and Lighting Ceremony of Christmas Tree and Belen
The Christmas Tree and Belen were lit on November 29, 2017 at the Mabini Hall after the celebration of Thanksgiving Mass. The lighting and blessing ceremonies started with an introduction about the Christmas tree by Campus Minister Maribel Corcolla, wherein she affirmed that the symbolic lighting of the tree and Belen signifies a joyous celebration and commemoration of the first Christmas that happened in Bethlehem. Afterwards, the blessing of the Christmas tree was presided by Fr. Mark Demanuele of Missionary Society of St. Paul while the lighting was led by Atty. Roberto Laurel, together with LPU Pirates captain ball Jasper Ayaay and the rest of the team. The ceremonies drew to a close with the singing of Christmas carols by LPU Chorale. The tree and belen remained lit and on display until January 5, 2018.
