BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE*

The BSCS program includes the study of computing concepts and theories, algorithmic foundations, and new developments in computing. The program prepares students to design and create algorithmically complex software and develop new and effective algorithms for solving computing problems.

The program also includes the study of the standards and practices in Software Engineering. It prepares students to acquire skills and disciplines required for designing, writing, and modifying software components, modules, and applications that comprise software solutions.

Program Goals:

The BS CS program is expected to produce God-centered, nationalistic, environment-conscious, and globally competitive Computer Science professionals with wholesome values and attitudes. They will be recognized for their outstanding and innovative contributions in research or industry, in the service of God and country.

 

Certifications:

Data Science and Analytics

This specialization covers concepts and tools that are needed throughout the entire data science pipeline. This specialization is meant to enhance the technological analytical skills of the students. This program enables the students to develop data interfaces and implement tools that will help them enhance insights into resources such as data mining, cleaning, visualization, scraping, and using APIs to make data products.

Software Engineering

This specialization is concerned with developing and maintaining software systems that behave reliably and efficiently, are affordable to develop and maintain, and satisfy all the requirements that customers have defined for them. This specialization focuses on software development and goes beyond programming since it includes extracting customers’ requirements and designing and testing software. SE students learn how to assess customer needs and develop usable software that meets those needs.

 


BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY*

The BS IT program includes the study of the utilization of both hardware and software technologies involving planning, installing, customizing, operating, managing, and administering and maintaining information technology infrastructure that provides computing solutions to address the needs of an organization. The program prepares graduates to address various user needs involving the selection, development, application, integration, and management of computing technologies within an organization.

Program Goals:

The BS IT program is expected to produce God-centered, nationalistic, environment-conscious and globally competitive Information Technology professionals and entrepreneurs with wholesome values and attitudes. They will be recognized for their outstanding and innovative contributions in research or industry, in the service of God and country.

 

Certifications:

Information Security

This specialization will equip students with critical knowledge in the field of information security. It combines technical knowledge with managerial theory, providing students with a deep foundational understanding of information security, risk management, security management, IT operations, data communications, computer forensics, and ethical hacking.

Technopreneurship

This track is a combination of the study of IT with business modules, designed to enable the commercial exploitation of technical innovations. It gives students the ability to program and use multimedia to develop innovative business solutions. Students will be exposed to commercial development opportunities in start-ups, and small or large businesses. Students will also be given an awareness of market research and finance and management, underpinning the development of entrepreneurial capabilities.
