CITHM Dean Presents Paper in Kota Kinabalu

As part of the university’s tri-fold function of Research and Innovation, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management Dean Dr. Lilibeth Aragon presented her research paper entitled “Welfare Services for Filipino Seafarers: Management and Governance Based on the Maritime Labor Convention” during the 8th Global Congress and Conferment Ceremony held from August 11 to 13, 2016 at the Jabatan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Negara (JKKN) Auditorium at the Sabah National Culture and Arts Complex, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

The Global Congress was attended by local and international delegates in the fields of technical and vocational education, tourism, hotel and restaurant management, business, entrepreneurship, public administration, accounting, architecture, health & sciences, engineering, and many other disciplines. Guest speakers discussed the theme “Good Governance and Ethical Standards of Professionals of various fields in the 21st Century” to an audience of approximately three hundred international delegates.

In addition to presenting her research paper, Dr. Aragon was conferred Fellow of the Royal Institute of Hospitality Management, Singapore (RI), a global, multidisciplinary, professional membership and accrediting institution that aims to level the playing field and be the premier platform for smarter and more effective global networking, connecting education, business, commerce, and industries and facilitating collaboration, innovation, and perpetual learning for more opportunities, benefits, privileges, global recognition, and status.
