LPU Awarded CHED Centers of Excellence for Tourism and International Hospitality Management Programs

Raising the bar for academic excellence, Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) proved that excellence is a way of life at LPU when the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) awarded it two Centers of Excellence (COE) during the formal award ceremony held at the CHED Auditorium on May 17, 2016.

The programs awarded Centers of Excellence under the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management were Bachelor of Science in International Travel and Tourism Management (BS ITTM), and Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management (BS IHM) with specializations in Hotel and Restaurant Administration (HRA), Cruise Line Operations in Culinary Arts (CLOCA), Cruise Line Operations in Hotel Services (CLOHS), and Culinary Arts and Kitchen Operations (CAKO).

The Center of Excellence is awarded to a program that continually demonstrates excellent performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages, institutional qualifications, and provides an excellent quality education program to meet the needs of the industry.

Presenting the awards to LPU was CHED Chair Dr. Patricia Licuanan. The award was received by CITHM Dean Dr. Beth Aragon, accompanied by LPU Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Conrado Iñigo Jr., Executive Director for Planning and Development Ma. Christina Aquino, and LPU College of Business Administration (CBA) Dean Dr. Ma Victoria Ac-Ac, who also received COE awards for Customs Administration and Business Administration programs.

International Tourism and Hospitality Management
