CIR 2nd General Assembly
In line with the Lyceum of the Philippines University’s objective of promoting honor and excellence, the College of International Relations 2nd General Assembly aimed to inspire the CIR community to strive for higher academic achievements through recognizing the Dean’s Listers for the 2nd semester A.Y 2018-2019 as well as the selected best student researchers in the CIR and the Top Foreign Languages students of batch 2019. To encourage students to do their best, the CIR Faculty and the CIR Student Government invited 3 FSOE Passers as guest speakers.
CIR students were all encouraged to attend and listen to the speakers’ inspiring speeches as well as to witness the recognition of the students who have excelled. In his opening remarks, College of International Relations Dean Amb. Alfredo L. Almendrala, Jr, also inspired the CIR students to strive for excellence.
After the dean delivered his message, CIR Student Government Vice-President Ma. Patricia Nicole G. introduced guest speakers Mr. Karlo Ray I. Tanodra, Ms. Sheena H. Cordero, and Mr. Jeremiah P. Attento. They shared their student experiences, emphasizing the importance of the knowledge gained in relation to the fulfillment of noble ambitions, and provided tips for doing well in the FSOE. After their talk, International Trade and Foreign Languages Dean and Chair Mr. Glenn Niño M. Sartillo bestowed certificates of recognition upon the guest speakers.
Preceded by video and dance presentations prepared by the CIR Student Government and College-Based Organizations,the awarding ceremony was conducted, with the Dean’s Listers, the Best Student Researchers, the CIR Grand Debate winners, and the Top Foreign Languages Students taking turns to receive recognition.
The CIR Student Government’s mid-year financial report was also presented by CIR Student Government Treasurer Ms. Sarah May A. Diaz, followed by a raffle draw. CIR Student Government President Mr. Peter Joshua C. Corporal formally ended the General Assembly with closing remarks that included the details and dates of this semester’s CIR SG events.
