Delgado at Helen Storrow Seminar in Switzerland
Surrounded by the magnificent Alps and embraced by the cold Swiss snow, College of International Relations student Rose Jade Eugenie Delgado proudly represented the Philippines in the Helen Storrow Seminar held in Adelboden, Switzerland from March 20 to 28, 2017.
The Helen Storrow Seminar is the premier introductory level international leadership development event held annually at one of the World Centers of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), the Our Chalet. The seminar provides young people from different countries the opportunity to connect on issues they care about and take the lead as agents of change in the communities. During the seven-day programme, participants from around the globe, creating a network of global change agents, were able to collaborate with their peers to develop their leadership practices and learn more about environmental issues and how to take action in their community.
Delgado was endorsed by the Girl Scouts of the Philippines to the event after a series of screenings. During the event, not only was she able to experience her first snowfall and immerse herself in the Swiss culture; she was also able to participate in different discussions of topics such as the Sustainable Development goals, take part in leadership development activities, and formulate an environmental project proposal to be implemented in the Philippines.
