Teaching with Technology (TwT): Windows in the Classroom
In coordination with the LPU Community Outreach and Service Learning Office (COSeL), the LPU Microsoft Education Ambassadors (ICT, COT and SHS) went to Mt. Data, Mountain Province to continue helping co-educators use technology in education and gave updates on current trends in technology. A two-day training, May 8 and 9, 2018, on TwT was held at Mt. Data Elementary Schools (MDES). Total of 28 teachers from seven (7) Schools including the host school, namely: Mt. Data National High School, Bun-ayan Elementary School, Labbay Primary School, Tipunan National High School and Guinzadan National High School, Mabaay National High School.
On Day 1, focus was on Microsoft Education and its programs, File Management, and Applications that can be downloaded from Microsoft Store such as Corinth Microplant, Anatomy, Math Solver, and many more. Also, part 1 of the in-depth training in Excel Application was taught.
On Day 2, discussions were on Excel (filter, v-lookup, data validation, conditional formatting and using if-then-else and loop format), Mail Merge on MS Word, and Slide Master on PowerPoint.
The team also checked the status of computers deployed by DepEd. Mr. Ronnie Dellegas, Lead Technical of ICT Manila, facilitated the setup of the computers. He conducted basic training on using and managing the computers.
