Pursuant to the 2015 LPU Manila Student Handbook, Article 15, Section 5 (p. 94), the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has decided that each candidate must receive the support of at least 50% plus 1 of the total registered voters to be declared the winner. This rule is in place to ensure that being the only candidate does not automatically guarantee a win.

Additionally, candidates should remember that students have the right to choose not to vote for any candidate.
