Introduction 

The College of Business Administration (CBA) is dedicated towards the formation of competent, pursuance of scholarly research, socially-oriented, spiritually integrated and globally competitive business professionals and developing a Lycean culture of “Veritas et Fortitudo” (Truth and fortitude) and “Pro Deo et Patria” (For God and Country) and responsibility to the institution and committed to teaching. 

In answer to the needs and demands of an environment characterized by increasing emphasis on globalization, shifting economic strengths, rapid advances in information technology, and fierce competition, the College of Business Administration expanded its curricular offerings. All courses are computer-oriented and taught by a highly qualified, competent faculty pool composed of Certified Public Accountants, licensed Customs Broker, lawyers, and master and doctoral degree holders. The college consistently produced Board Topnotchers in Customs Broker’s Licensure Exams and has Above National Passing Rates in Certified Public Accountants Licensure Exam. LPU was awarded as the Philippines’ First Center of Excellence for Customs Administration. Awarded Center of Excellence for BS Business Administration & BS Customs Administration by the Commission on Higher Education.

Program Accreditation 

The Philippine Association of Colleges & Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) granted LEVEL 4 to the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) of the College of Business Administration and LEVEL 3 for Accountancy & Customs Administration. 

Achievements and Awards 

The Business Administration and the Customs Administration Programs were awarded and Recognized as Center for Excellence (COE) by the Commission on Higher Education on May 17, 2016. CHED grants COE to a higher education institution academic program, which continuously demonstrates excellent performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages and institutional qualifications. 

The LPU Customs Administration Program consistently is one of the Top Performing school in the Customs Broker Licensure Examinations (CBLE). On November 2017 CBLE, the LPU CBLE passing percentage resulted to 69.70% with the National passing percentage 53.23%. Four (4) LPU placed 2nd, 3rd, 8th and two 10th in the top ten (10) board passers. 

New Lyceans Certified Public Accountants for 2017 which was held May 2017. The Lycean Board Examination resulted to passing percentage of 50.00% with the National passing percentage of 35.14% and the First taker Passing rate is 100% 

The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) awarded the five (5) Accountancy students and Faculty Adviser, Ms. Christine Sousa as Non-Food Category “BWC Insulator Pad” Grand Winner the BIDA 2017 11th Business Idea and Development Award in recognition of outstanding ideas in entrepreneurship and creativeness of students held October 18, 2017 at the Manila Hotel. 

Program and Curriculum 

The Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA), Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA), Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration (BSCA, and Bachelor of Science of Business Administration (BSBA Major in Business Management, Marketing Management, and Operation Management provide courses that enable students the following desired qualities: analytical ability, technological awareness and a working knowledge of international marketing.  Further, the curriculum offers innovation through courses that deal with digital analytics, blockchain, cloud computing, and E-Commerce.  The curricula likewise provide students with a solid preparation in accountancy, customs administration, business, and orientation of the global business environment. 

Academic Programs 

The CBA continuously enhances the BSA, BSMA, BSCA, and BSBA Programs. The syllabi and curriculum are updated periodically to produce graduates with the corporate industry’s skills and knowledge to become successful CPAs, Customs Brokers, and Entrepreneurs. 

The College of Business Administration continuously enhances the Accountancy, Customs Administration, and Business Programs to produce graduates with managerial skills that will prepare them for the local enterprise and, eventually, for job opportunities in the Asia-Pacific Region. 

Students 

CBA prepares the students for careers in Accountancy and Financial Management, Business and Customs Administration by emphasizing practical learning and experiences and cutting-edge theory. The CBA commits to establishing a reputation for academic excellence. Thus, in this challenging time, it intensifies its search for competent and excellent teachers. There are young, talented, and dynamic teachers in the faculty roster of the College. The purpose is to prepare the students for life in a changing global economy by developing their communication, analytical, team building, and problem-solving skills.
