COE Solar Powered Street Lights Project

Displaying the outcomes of their Lycean Education towards the development of adopted community of Sitio Masla in General Nakar, Quezon, 4th year Electrical  Engineering (EE) and Electronics Engineering (ECE) students of Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila Campus worked on the Solar Powered Street Lights Project. Their mentor, LPU College of Engineering (COE) ECE Faculty Member Engr. Mark Melegrito guided them throughout the process - from lecture to actual hands-on activities. On March 14, 2016, the students successfully tested their individual projects at the Engineering Laboratories building.

Smiles marked their faces as each set lit up, and they were really proud of their achievements, the knowledge and skills they have gained, knowing that these will benefit two of LPU's Dumagat partner communities: Sitio Masla, General Nakar, Quezon and Quirino Province.

The Solar Powered Street Lights will be deployed and installed by COE faculty and students on March 19-21, 2016 at Sitio Masla, General Nakar, Quezon.
