Lycean Accountancy Students Win 1st Runner-Up in BATALIA: The 5th Internal Audit Academic Challenge

Their competence and grit definitely made an impressive mark! Bachelor of Science in Accountancy students Julius Lester B. Abiera, Maria Angela F. De Guzman (both Fifth Year Students), and Carl Francis Mari G. Inventado (Fourth Year Student) won First Runner-Up in the recently concluded BATALIA: The 5th Internal Audit Academic Challenge that aims to invest, involve and inspire students towards the internal auditing profession. It was held last February 16, 2020, at the St. Giles Hotel, Makati City. In the Elimination Round, the team battled through to advance in the final round by showcasing their academic excellence in the individual quiz bee. Garnering a total of 157 points, they secured the 3rd spot of the top 5 teams to move forward in the last leg of the competition. While in the Final Round, they demonstrated their critical minds, analytical, and communication skills by presenting their findings in the case study, emphasizing internal audit principles.
This academic event is spearheaded by the Institute of Internal Auditors – Philippines (IIA-P), a member institute and official local representative of the IIA, Inc. based in Florida, USA. It is a professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the internal auditing profession. This was also in partnership with the Institute of Internal Auditors – FEU Student Chapter and NFJPIA-NCR. A big congratulations to these JPIAns! Their victory is another addition to our roster of academic awards and achievements. Without Sans doubt, the whole LPU – JPIA community cannot be more proud of them.
